Flyers' Garnet Hathaway: Gets two-year deal from Philly
Hathaway signed a two-year, $4.75 million contract with the Flyers on Saturday.
Hathaway has established himself as a reliable fourth-liner in the NHL. The 31-year-old racked up 13 goals and nine assists over 84 contests between the Capitals and the Bruins last season while also tallying 268 hits, ranking eighth in the league in the category. He should be a consistent presence in the Flyers' lineup to provide grit, but he won't chip in much offense.

Bruins' Garnet Hathaway: Snags helper in win
Hathaway registered one assist and eight hits in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Panthers.
Hathaway notched his first point of the playoffs, while he's also garnered 18 hits, 10 PIM and eight blocks. Considering the winger has just two shots on goal, fantasy players probably shouldn't be banking on him providing much in the way of offensive production.

Bruins' Garnet Hathaway: Pots game-winner Saturday
Hathaway scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Detroit.
With the score tied 2-2 midway through the third period, Hathaway pounced on a rebound and banged home his 10th goal of the year and first in seven games since joining the Bruins ahead of the trade deadline. The 31-year-old grinder has a knack for timely tallies -- of his 50 goals over the past five seasons, an impressive 12 have been game-winners. Most of Hathaway's fantasy value comes from his physical play, however, and five more hits Saturday brought him up to 215 on the season, ranking eighth in the league.

Bruins' Garnet Hathaway: Included in Orlov deal
Hathaway and Dmitry Orlov were traded from the Capitals to the Bruins on Thursday in exchange for Craig Smith, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick.
Hathaway figures to be an upgrade for the Bruins' fourth line, providing significant toughness. He has 16 points, 198 hits, 65 blocked shots and 52 PIM through 59 contests this season. He'll likely miss Thursday's game versus the Kraken, but he could be available by Saturday's contest versus the Canucks.

Capitals' Garnet Hathaway: Scratched for trade reasons
Hathaway will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against Anaheim for trade-related reasons.
Hathaway has nine goals and 16 points in 59 contests in 2022-23 while averaging 12:06 of ice time. He's in the final season of a four-year, $6 million contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, so if the Capitals are looking to be sellers at the deadline, then it would make sense for them to shop him. With Hathaway out of the lineup, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, who was a healthy scratch Tuesday, might play against the Ducks.

Capitals' Garnet Hathaway: Sparks comeback push
Hathaway scored a goal on three shots, added four hits and blocked two shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders.
One second after the game's midpoint, Hathaway scored to get the Capitals on the board. They'd add three more goals, including Dmitry Orlov's overtime tally to erase what had been a three-goal deficit. It's been a productive stretch for Hathaway lately -- he has four goals, one assist and 18 hits over his last eight contests. For the season, the fourth-line winger is up to seven tallies, seven helpers, 54 shots, 152 hits, 46 PIM and 50 blocked shots through 46 appearances.

Hathaway tallied a goal on his lone shot in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Following a net-front scramble, Hathaway beat a sprawling Elvis Merzlikins with a wrist shot to extend Washington's lead to 4-2 late in the second period. The 31-year-old Hathaway now has three points (two goals and an assist) in his last four contests. While he won't keep up this scoring pace in a fourth-line role, Hathaway has been productive while providing a physical presence for the Capitals with five goals, six assists, and 139 hits.

Capitals' Garnet Hathaway: Bags apple Thursday
Hathaway tallied an assist and dished out seven hits during Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators.
Hathaway has managed five points over his last eight games -- along with a very healthy 28 hits. The 31-year-old continues to be a valuable role player on the fourth line with Alexei Protas and Nic Dowd, but his fantasy value remains largely confined to deeper leagues that reward his prowess as a hitter (134).

Capitals' Garnet Hathaway: Secures assist
Hathaway notched an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.
Hathaway ended his personal six-game point drought with a helper on a John Carlson goal in the second period. The 31-year-old winger is more sandpaper than scoring threat -- he has four points, 90 hits, 35 PIM, 28 blocked shots, 25 shots on goal and a minus-1 rating through 24 contests. He can help in deep fantasy formats that reward grit, but his career high in points is 26 in 76 outings last year, which is the anomaly in his playing history.

Hathaway was fined $4,054.05 for unsportsmanlike conduct Saturday from an incident in Friday's game against Tampa Bay.
Hathaway received five minutes for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct at the 1:56 mark of the second period.
