Slavin picked up two assists in a series-clinching 3-2 win over Boston on Saturday in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference First Round series. Slavin quietly leads all Canes with eight points (two goals, six assists) and a plus-10 rating in seven games. He continues to impress and build on a career regular season (42 points). At age 28, Slavin's in the prime of his career. He will be a target in fantasy drafts next year.... See More ... See Less

Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Two-way stud in Game 2
Slavin had two assists, three shots, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Wednesday's 5-2 Game 2 win over the Bruins. As has been the case all season, Slavin was noticeable at both ends of the ice and put together a tremendous all-around performance. After scoring a career-high 42 points in the regular season, Slavin has three points through two playoff games, as well as a robust plus-6 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Back in there for Game 1
Slavin's in the projected lineup for Monday's Game 1 against Boston. Slavin was rested for Carolina's final regular-season game, but it's no surprise that he'll be back in there for the postseason opener. He's an integral part of the Hurricanes' game plan as one of the league's best defensive blueliners, and Slavin can chip in offensively as well, having totaled a career-high 42 points in 2021-22.... Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Sitting out Thursday
Slavin will be rested for the regular-season finale against New Jersey on Thursday. Carolina will take advantage of having secured first place in the Metropolitan Division by resting Slavin along with Jordan Staal and Andrei Svechnikov. There is no indication this will impact any of the trio's availability for Game 1 of the playoffs. With Slavin out of the lineup, Ian Cole will likely see the biggest uptick in ice time.... Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Chips in with helper
Slavin provided an assist, six shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Ducks. Slavin helped out on the second goal of Jordan Staal's hat trick in this contest. With six assists and a plus-15 rating in his last nine games, Slavin continues to blend offense and defense efficiently on the Hurricanes' top pairing. The 27-year-old blueliner has a career-high 38 points with 148 shots on net, 113 blocked shots and a plus-30 rating in 71 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Snaps nine-game point drought
Slavin picked up two assists in a 3-2 loss to Toronto on Thursday. It was a nice way to snap a nine-game scoring drought, but Slavin would likely say a win would have been better. Still, he's on pace for a career year and that's what matters in fantasy. Slavin has 31 points in 58 games; his career mark is 36 points in 68 games.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Stuck in a rut
Slavin failed to crack the scoresheet for the eighth straight game Saturday against the Flyers. Slavin is scuffling a bit right now, but he continues to see a ton of ice time, with an average TOI of 23:32 over his last eight games (including 3:20 on the power play). Despite his recent struggles, Slavin has 29 points in 56 games and should still top his career-high 36 points with a solid push over his final 24 games. Keep him active.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Continues to shine
Slavin produced an assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers. Slavin has been terrific with one goal, six assists and 14 blocked shots through eight February contests. At this rate, the top-pairing defenseman will sail past his career high in points (36), which he set with the 'Canes in 2019-20.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Two points against Preds
Slavin scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Friday's 5-3 win over the Predators. He lifted the puck over Juuse Saros on a feed from Andrei Svechnikov just before the horn sounded to end the second period, then returned the favor inside the final minute of the third, chipping the puck out of the Carolina zone to set Svechnikov up for an empty-netter. Slavin is heating up, collecting a goal and six points in the last six games, and on the season he has three tallies and 28 points through 46 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Generates assist in loss
Slavin notched an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Wild. Slavin set up the first of Andrei Svechnikov's two goals in the third period. This was Slavin's third assist in his last four games. The defenseman now has 10 PIM this season -- don't count on him winning the Lady Byng in back-to-back years. He's still been solid all around with 25 points, 89 shots on net, 79 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating in 44 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Produces helper in overtime loss
Slavin notched an assist and two blocked shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. Slavin helped out on a Tony DeAngelo goal just eight seconds into the third period. In eight games since exiting the COVID-19 protocols, Slavin has a goal and four assists, though he had a three-point effort in his first game back. The 27-year-old defenseman has been steady throughout the season with 23 points, a plus-11 rating, 73 blocked shots and 81 shots on net in 41 contests overall. While more regarded for his defense, he's also on track to reach the 40-point mark for the first time in his career.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Three-point effort in return
Slavin scored a power-play goal and added two even-strength assists in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Bruins. He rounded out his line with two shots on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-4 rating. Slavin missed the previous two games while in the COLID-19 protocols, but he didn't skip a beat in his return. On the season, the 27-year-old blueliner has two goals and 21 points in 34 contests.... Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Departs COVID-19 protocols
Slavin exited the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Monday, per Sara Civian of The Athletic. Slavin missed the last two games while in the protocols. He is likely to participate in Tuesday's contest against Boston on the road. The 27-year-old has averaged 25:25 of ice time -- 2:00 during the power play -- and logged seven points over his last 10 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Lands in COVID-19 protocols
Slavin was placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Tuesday. Slavin is goalless in his last nine contests but has chipped in five assists over that stretch, including a trio of power-play helpers. The blueliner should continue to log big minutes with the club moving forward, including with the man advantage.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Bag of apples pushes career pace
Slavin had three assists Thursday in a 4-0 win over Montreal. Two came on the power play; the other while shorthanded. Slavin is very quietly marching toward a mid-40 point season. That's a career pace for the 27-year-old defender. Slavin's best is clearly yet to come.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Assists on man advantage
Slavin recorded a power-play assist en route to a 5-1 win over the Kings on Saturday. A strong two-way defenseman, Slavin has reached 15 points on the season, effectively matching his total from the 2020-21 campaign in 23 fewer games. An increase in playing time is a big reason for the surge; Slavin is averaging 24:10 of ice time, which is a career high between his seven years of service time with the Hurricanes.... See More ... Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Two points in win
Slavin scored a goal on three shots, dished a power-play assist and blocked a pair of shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Jets. Slavin unleashed a long-range shot to open the scoring 30 seconds into the game. He also helped out on a Vincent Trocheck tally in the third period. Slavin has been steady throughout the year, though this was just his second multi-point effort. He has one goal, 12 helpers, 50 shots on net, 36 blocks and a plus-6 rating in 24 contests.... Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Collects assist in loss
Slavin produced an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Stars. Slavin set up Jesperi Kotkaniemi's goal, which was the Hurricanes' lone tally. The 27-year-old Slavin cooled off in November with just four assists in 13 games. The American blueliner is up to 10 helpers, 43 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through 21 contests overall. He'll continue to see significant usage as the Hurricanes' defense corps is down three regulars due to COVID-19 protocols.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Stuffs stat sheet Saturday
Slavin recorded an assist on four shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Panthers. He added two penalty minutes and a pair of hits in addition to skating 3:23 on the power play. Don't look now, but Slavin has eight points in 11 games this season, and he's only been held off the scoresheet three times. His recent offensive consistency -- not to mention his current role on the power play in place of the injured Brett Pesce -- makes him a particularly attractive fantasy pickup right now. Take advantage of the hot streak while it lasts.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Two helpers in Monday's win
Slavin picked up two assists in Monday's 4-1 win over the Maple Leafs. The 27-year-old blueliner had a hand in Carolina's final two goals of the night. Slavin has a surprising five points, all helpers, through five games to begin the season, but his lack of power-play time will make it very tough to maintain anything close to that pace....
