Maple Leafs' Matt Lorito: Traded to Maple Leafs organization
The Islanders traded Lorito to the Maple Leafs in exchange for Jordan Schmaltz on Monday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Lorito hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since the 2016-17 season, when he recorded an assist in two games with Detroit. Since then, he's spent his time with AHL Grand Rapids and AHL Bridgeport. For now, he will report to AHL Toronto.

Islanders' Matt Lorito: Passes through waivers unclaimed
Lorito (undisclosed) cleared waivers Friday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. The depth winger now appears on AHL Bridgeport's team roster.
It initially appeared that Lorito would remain on the parent club roster with a non-roster IR designation, but he's evidently healthy and ready to contribute to the Sound Tigers.

Lorito (undisclosed) was waived by the Islanders on Thursday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Lorito was waived by the Red Wings ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, and even after this latest waiver transaction, an undisclosed issue has him parked on non-roster injured reserve with the parent club. Don't count on him making an impact in fantasy hockey, as he's shaping up to be a career AHLer.

Lorito (undisclosed) is out indefinitely, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
The severity of Lorito's injury has yet to be revealed, but he isn't expected to make the Opening Night roster, so his participation in training camp, or lack thereof, shouldn't have much impact on his standing in the organization. The 28-year-old winger has only appeared in two NHL contests during his professional career, and will likely spend the majority of the 2018-19 campaign in the minors.

Islanders' Matt Lorito: Inks deal with Islanders
Lorito signed a two-year deal with the Islanders on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.
What's worth noting is that the deal is one-way in the second year, though the financial details aren't known at the moment. Lorito has been impressive at the AHL level with the Griffins the last two seasons, notching 45 total goals. However, he's also 27 already, and he turns 28 on July 3, so he's not exactly an up-and-coming prospect. Usually players with an NHL future have played more than two games above the minor-league level by this point in their careers.

Red Wings' Matt Lorito: Gets waived by Detroit
Lorito was waived by the Red Wings on Sunday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
The undrafted winger tore it up with AHL Grand Rapids last season, depositing 22 goals and 34 assists in 61 regular-season contests. He also left a mark in the 2017 Calder Cup playoffs, scoring seven times with three power-play setups over 19 appearances. However, since the 27-year-old has only drawn into two NHL games to date, it's highly unlikely that Lorito is arbitrarily going to be put in a fantasy-friendly situation.

Lorito found twine in Wednesday's 6-5 exhibition road loss to the Penguins.
He's not expected to make the team, but Lorito managed 22 goals and 34 assists in 61 regular-season contests with AHL Grand Rapids last season. The diminutive flanker -- he's 5-foot-9, 170 pounds -- is a good one to have around in case injuries significantly threaten the parent club, but then again, he has just two NHL games under his belt at the age of 27. It's safe to pass over Lorito in most fantasy drafts.

Red Wings' Matt Lorito: Sent back to minors
Lorito was demoted to AHL Grand Rapids on Monday.
Lorito played with the Red Wings for each of the team's last two games, notching an assist during his NHL debut and adding in six shots on goal between the tilts. The 26-year-old posted another impressive season with AHL Grand Rapids this season and could be a contender to round out the Red Wings' 2017-18 roster with a strong camp next fall. For now, he will return to playoff-bound Grand Rapids for some additional action.

Red Wings' Matt Lorito: Picks up assist in NHL debut
Lorito picked up an assist with a plus-1 rating in his NHL debut Saturday against the Canadiens.
The undrafted rookie out of Brown University certainly looked like he belonged in his first game, although he was facing Montreal's 'B' team with several stars resting. Still, it was a very positive start for a guy who is likely to be fighting for a job in training camp next season.

Lorito was called up from the minors Thursday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Whether Lorito makes his NHL debut against the Canadiens on Saturday is likely tied to the health of Andreas Athanasiou (undisclosed). The 26-year-old Lorito was undrafted coming out of Brown University, where he had a solid four-year career. After signing an entry-level deal with the Wings in the offseason, the winger rewarded their confidence by posting 21 goals and 33 helpers in 59 outings with AHL Grand Rapids. Given his production in the minors, Lorito might be worth keeping an eye on in dynasty formats heading into the 2017-18 campaign.
