  • Blackhawks' Alexandre Fortin: Sent to bus league

The Blackhawks reassigned Fortin to AHL Rockford on Wednesday.

Fortin has been a healthy scratch for three of the Blackhawks' last seven games, and he only averaged 9:22 of ice time in the four contests he appeared in over that span, so this move doesn't come as a surprise. Chicago recalled Dylan Sikura in a corresponding move Wednesday, so Fortin will remain in the minors for the foreseeable future.

  • Blackhawks' Alexandre Fortin: Provides helper Saturday

Fortin had an assist during Saturday's 5-3 loss to Calgary.

Fortin provided the helper on one of Chicago's three goals on the evening. It was the second assist of the season for Fortin, as the bottom-six winger now has four points through 12 games on the campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Alexandre Fortin: Recalled from AHL Rockford

Fortin was called up by the Blackhawks on Tuesday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.

With Andreas Martinsen nursing a back injury, Chicago needed to fortify its wing position and elected to call up Fortin. The 21-year-old is pointless in two minor-league games coming off a campaign that saw him record 21 points in 53 AHL contests. He isn't worthy of fantasy consideration at the moment.

  • Blackhawks' Alexandre Fortin: Cleared for training camp

Fortin (abdomen) is listed on the Blackhawks' training camp roster ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

Fortin underwent sports hernia surgery in June, but he was always expected to be 100 percent healthy for training camp. The 20-year-old forward was a point-per-game producer in the QMJHL last season, racking up 52 points (22 goals, 30 assists) in 52 games with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. He'll get a chance to compete for an Opening Night roster spot with the big club in camp, but he'll likely spend the majority of the 2017-18 campaign in the AHL.

  • Blackhawks' Alexandre Fortin: Hopes to be ready for training camp

Fortin, who is three weeks removed from sports-hernia surgery, hopes to be 100 percent healthy by training camp, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Fortin is only participating in the off-ice portion of this year's prospect camp to avoid sustaining any setbacks in his recovery, but the 20-year-old forward should be ready to return to the ice once the Blackhawks' training camp gets underway in September. The 6-foot winger will get an opportunity to compete for an Opening Night roster spot in training camp, but he'll likely start the season with AHL Rockford and remain in the minors for the majority of the 2017-18 campaign.
