  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Facing extended absence

Carrier is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with an upper-body injury. Given the expected length of Carrier's absence, it wouldn't be surprising to see him land on injured reserve in the coming days. Kevin Gravel, who was recalled Thursday, will likely be a regular in the Predators' lineup until Carrier, who's picked up eight points through 40 games this season, is ready to return.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Doesn't finish Tuesday's game

Carrier didn't complete Tuesday's game versus the Jets, Emma Lingan of the Predators' official site reports. Carrier logged just 4:40 of ice time in the contest, as well as five PIM for fighting. The defenseman's status should be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's contest versus the Devils, though it's possible the Predators opt to hold him out since they have their bye week before the All-Star break.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Notches two assists Saturday

Carrier registered two assists in a 5-3 win against Los Angeles on Saturday. Carrier has two goals and eight points in 39 games in 2022-23. This was his first multi-point game of the season. He also contributed an assist against St. Louis on Thursday, so perhaps he's heating up.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Good to go Monday

Carrier (upper body) will suit up Monday against Calgary, Robby Stanley of 102.5 The Game reports. Carrier was unavailable against Buffalo on Saturday but he'll be back in a top-four role Monday. The 26-year-old has five points while averaging 18:28 of ice time through 35 games.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Game-time call Monday

Carrier (upper body) is a game-time decision for Monday's contest versus Calgary, per Emma Lingan of the Predators' official site. Carrier missed Saturday's 5-3 loss to Buffalo because of the injury. He has two goals and five points in 35 contests this season. If Carrier is able to return Monday, then Roland McKeown might be a healthy scratch.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Will not play Saturday

Carrier (undisclosed) will not play against Buffalo on Saturday, Emma Lingan of the Predators' official site reports. Carrier is not expected to be out long-term, according to coach John Hynes. The defenseman will be replaced in the lineup by Roland McKeown. Carrier has two goals, five points, 46 hits and 56 blocks in 35 games this season,

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Nets OT tally

Carrier scored the overtime winner during Monday's 4-3 victory over the visiting Oilers. Carrier, who dressed for the first time since Dec. 10, converted his first game-winning tally in 125 career games. The 26-year-old defenseman received a 135-foot transition pass from Cody Glass and scored off a 2-on-1 breakaway, his second in 24 games this season. Carrier added two shots and a plus-1 rating against the Oilers.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Ready to rock

Carrier (upper body) will return to the lineup Monday versus Edmonton, Emma Lingan of the Predators' official site reports. • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Labeled week-to-week

Carrier is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury, Nashville announced Monday. Carrier could be a candidate for injured reserve given his recovery timeline, which would free up a roster spot for the Predators. Considering the 26-year-old blueliner has one point in 23 games this season, few fantasy players will be impacted by his absence. In his stead, the team called up Roland McKeown and Kevin Gravel from the minors, both of whom figure to play against St. Louis on Monday.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Injured Saturday

Carrier was injured during Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Senators, reports Bryan Bastin of ontheforecheck.com. Carrier did not see any ice time past the 7:09 mark of the second period. After the game, coach John Hynes had no update on the injury or a possible timetable for Carrier's return, so consider him day-to-day for now.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Still searching for first point

Carrier skated a season-high 19:39 in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Lightning, but his point drought reached 16 games. Following his tidy 30-point effort last season, Carrier has been unable to get anything going offensively so far this year. Even after serving as a healthy scratch for consecutive games earlier in November, Carrier has produced nothing but goose eggs in the five games since rejoining the lineup. He should be firmly on your fantasy bench, if rostered at all, until he can find a way to right the ship.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Can't crack scoresheet

Carrier is pointless through seven games so far this season. Since the Preds acquired Ryan McDonagh in the offseason, Carrier has been demoted to the team's third defensive pairing. That's resulted in his average TOI declining from about 21 minutes last year to about 17 minutes currently, although he's still seeing close to two minutes per night on the power play. Carrier recorded an impressive 30 points in 77 games last season, but it's hard to envision him replicating that feat given his current situation.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Collects assist in Game 2 loss

Carrier notched an assist, four hits, four blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Avalanche. Carrier helped out on Yakov Trenin's first-period tally. The assist was Carrier's second in his last four games, three of which have been against the Avalanche. The 25-year-old blueliner was productive with 30 points and 124 blocked shots in 77 regular-season contests, and he'll likely continue to play on the second pairing.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Generates helper Thursday

Carrier logged an assist, four shots on goal, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Avalanche. Carrier's offense has gone quiet in April -- he has just three points in 14 contests this month. The 25-year-old's defensive skill and physicality have kept him in a top-four role despite the scoring slump. He's at 30 points, 95 shots on net, 93 hits, 123 blocked shots and a plus-26 rating through 76 contests in his first full NHL campaign.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Four helpers in last two games

Carrier had two assists -- one shorthanded -- in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Senators. Carrier assisted on Michael McCarron's shorthanded marker to get the Predators on the board, then added a helper on Matt Duchene's empty-netter with four seconds left in the third. Consecutive two-assist games have Carrier up to 27 points in 62 games this season.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Sneaks in helper

Carrier produced an assist in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Blues. The Predators were reluctant to rip the training wheels off Carrier, whom they selected in the fourth round of the 2015 draft, but he's suddenly blossomed into a full-time NHL defenseman. Carrier is up to two goals, 20 assists, 83 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating through 53 games, which makes him worthy of consideration in deep leagues.

  • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Picks up helper

Carrier logged an assist in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Stars. This was Carrier's second game back from an upper-body injury, and he was able to set up Ryan Johansen's tally. Carrier has played over 20 minutes in both of his appearances since returning from a two-game absence, even though he's been listed on the third pairing. The 25-year-old has six assists in his last 10 outings, giving him 21 points in 51 contests overall. He's added 58 shots on net, 81 blocked shots, 48 hits, 34 PIM and a plus-17 rating this season.

Carrier (upper body) will return to the lineup Saturday versus the Sharks, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Philippe Myers will exit the lineup to make room for Carrier, who is expected to play on the third pairing with Ben Harpur.

Carrier (upper body) is not expected to play Wednesday versus the Kraken, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Carrier will miss a second straight game with the injury. • Predators' Alexandre Carrier: Sitting out Saturday

Carrier (undisclosed) is not available for Saturday's game versus the Lightning, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Carrier joins Mark Borowiecki (lower body) as injured blueliners for the Predators. Ben Harpur or Matt Tennyson are likely to enter the lineup in place of Carrier. It's unclear if Carrier will be ready for Wednesday's game versus the Kraken. He has picked up 20 points in 49 contests while mainly playing in a top-four role this season.
