  • Predators' Zach Sanford: Signs with Nashville

Sanford signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Predators on Friday. Sanford appeared in 80 games split between the Senators and the Jets last season, picking up nine goals and 21 points over that span. The 27-year-old winger may have to settle for a reduced role with the Predators, meaning he could be in and out of the lineup, so don't count on him being a viable fantasy option in 2022-23.

  • Jets' Zach Sanford: Poised to return Wednesday

Sanford (undisclosed) is expected back in the lineup versus Philadelphia on Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet reports. Sanford has played in 15 games since joining the Jets at the trade deadline in which he's garnered three assists, 15 shots and 35 hits while averaging 15:02 of ice time. The winger will have three games remaining to prove to the organization he should be re-signed in the offseason; otherwise, he will hit free agency this summer.

  • Jets' Zach Sanford: Won't play against Avalanche

Sanford (undisclosed) won't play Sunday versus Colorado, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports. The Jets only have three games remaining following Sunday's contest, so he may be in danger of missing the rest of the season. The 27-year-old winger has picked up 20 points through 77 contests split between the Senators and the Jets this year.

  • Jets' Zach Sanford: Chips in with helper

Sanford logged an assist, two hits and three blocked shots in Monday's 4-2 win over the Canadiens. Sanford ended a four-game point drought when he set up Adam Lowry for an empty-net goal. With three assists in 11 games since he was traded from the Senators to the Jets, Sanford continues to play more of a supporting role on offense. The winger has 20 points, 97 shots on net, 160 hits, 65 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating in 73 appearances this season.

  • Jets' Zach Sanford: Gets first assist with new team

Sanford recorded an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. Sanford had gone 10 games without a point, including his first two after he was traded from the Senators to the Jets. The 27-year-old snapped the drought with the secondary helper on Dominic Toninato's first-period marker. Through 65 appearances, Sanford has 18 points, 87 shots on net, 136 hits and a minus-12 rating. The American winger is likely to remain in a third-line role with the Jets, so his fantasy appeal will remain limited to deeper formats.

  • Jets' Zach Sanford: Moved in trade

Sanford was traded to Winnipeg from Ottawa on Monday with a 2022 fifth-round selection headed the other way, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. Sanford has notched 17 points in 62 games for the Senators this season along with 85 shots, 131 hits and 55 blocks. With the Jets moving Mason Appleton, the 27-year-old Sanford should be able to at least push for a top-six role, though he may need to settle for a spot on the third line at least to start.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Earns assist in victory

Sanford set up a goal in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Capitals. The gritty third-line winger only committed to one hit, but his primary assist to Adam Gaudette helped the Senators to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame. Selected by the Capitals in the second round (No. 61 overall) of the 2013 draft, Sanford doesn't see the ice often enough to draw attention in most fantasy formats, but there was no stopping Ottawa in this matinee.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Snags helper

Sanford recorded an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over the Devils. Sanford helped out on Nick Holden's go-ahead goal in the second period. The 27-year-old Sanford has picked up a modest six points with 31 hits and eight PIM in 13 games since the start of January. The winger will continue to have fairly limited appeal in a middle-six role. He's up to 13 points, 58 shots on net, 86 hits, 32 PIM and a minus-11 rating in 41 contests overall.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Delivers four hits

Sanford added four hits in a 4-1 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. Sanford was actually been much more productive in January than he had been in December, relatively speaking, but February did not bring such luck in this one. The winger has 85 hits and 11 points in 40 contests.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Buries empty-netter

Sanford scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added three hits in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Oilers. Sanford's full-length shot found the empty cage with 58 seconds left in regulation, sealing the Senators' comeback win. The 27-year-old has a goal and an assist in his last four games, but he's struggled with consistency on offense in a bottom-six role. He's at eight points, 44 shots on net, 61 hits, 30 PIM and a minus-11 rating in 31 contests overall. Sanford had 16 points in 52 games with the Blues last year.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Clears protocols

Sanford cleared COVID-19 protocols Friday. Sanford had been in protocols since Monday but didn't miss any games. The 27-year-old, with seven points in 29 games this season, should return to his usual fourth-line role when the Senators resume their schedule.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Designated for COVID-19 protocols

Sanford entered the league's COVID-19 protocols Monday. Sanford becomes the ninth Senator to land in the league's protocols, so it seems unlikely the team will be in action versus the Kraken on Thursday, though no official announcement has come from the league yet. For his part, Sanford is mired in a 13-game goal drought during which he has registered a mere 14 shots and just one assist. Unless he can rediscover his offense soon, Sanford will likely be hard-pressed to reach the 30-point threshold as he did back in 2019-20 with the Blues.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Hat trick goes to waste

Sanford netted a hat trick in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Avalanche. Sanford scored once in each period, opening with a power-play tally before adding the final pair at even strength. The 27-year-old entered Monday with just three points this season, so he doubled his output with the impressive showing. Sanford has five goals, one assist, 25 shots on net, 32 hits and a minus-3 rating in 16 appearances, though he's mainly been limited to third-line minutes.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Pots first goal with Ottawa

Sanford scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Bruins. He opened the scoring just 74 seconds into the game, but Ottawa couldn't make that early lead hold up. Sanford had only one assist through his first 11 games as a Senator, but he'd reached double-digit goals in each of his final two seasons with the Blues and more offense could be coming now that he's gotten rolling.

  • Senators' Zach Sanford: Traded to Ottawa

Sanford was traded from the Blues to the Senators on Saturday for Logan Brown and a conditional pick in the 2022 draft. It's an all-around downgrade in situation for Sanford, as he'll likely play a less prominent role on an inferior team. St. Louis often moved the physical winger up the lineup to bring some balance alongside its top skill guys, but Sanford will be blocked from top-six minutes with the Senators by Brady Tkachuk (contract dispute) and Tim Stutzle at his natural left wing position.

  • Blues' Zach Sanford: Re-ups with club

Sanford inked a one-year, $2 million contract with St. Louis on Wednesday. It's a one-year bridge deal for Sanford, who was a restricted free agent. The Massachusetts native failed to reprise his 2019-20 numbers when he racked up 16 goals and 14 assists in 58 contests, only managing 16 points in 52 games this past season. Still, with a full 82-game campaign Sanford should be capable of getting back over the 30-point threshold.

  • Blues' Zach Sanford: Tickles twine after long dry spell

Sanford scored a goal on his only shot and dished out three hits in Thursday's 7-3 victory over the Wild. With the Wild leading 3-0 early in the second period, Sanford flashed a toe-drag and picked the top corner from the left faceoff circle for his 10th goal of the season. The snipe was the first of seven unanswered by the Blues in their regular-season finale. It was also Sanford's first tally since April 9, snapping a 13-game drought.

  • Blues' Zach Sanford: Gets back on scoresheet with assist

Sanford managed an assist, four hits and three blocked shots in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Golden Knights. Sanford set up David Perron for the Blues' second goal of the game. The assist snapped a nine-game point drought for Sanford, who has seen less than 12 minutes of ice time in three of his last six games. The 26-year-old has 15 points, 64 shots on net, 58 hits, 40 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating through 48 contests.

  • Blues' Zach Sanford: Opens scoring in blowout win

Sanford scored a goal and went plus-2 in Friday's 9-1 win over the Wild. Sanford tallied just 1:32 into the game, which saw the Blues score early and often even though their third line played only a supporting role. The 26-year-old winger has nine goals, 14 points, 57 shots on net, 45 hits and a minus-8 rating through 38 contests this season.

  • Blues' Zach Sanford: Generates assist Monday

Sanford produced an assist and two PIM in Monday's 6-1 loss to the Golden Knights. Sanford set up Tyler Bozak at 17:01 of the first period for the Blues' lone goal. The 26-year-old Sanford snapped a nine-game point drought with the helper. He's at 13 points, 23 PIM, 55 shots on net and 43 hits through 36 contests. The Massachusetts native has mostly seen fourth-line usage since the return of Vladimir Tarasenko -- Sanford likely doesn't warrant a fantasy roster spot given his current role.
