Canucks' Aatu Raty: Heads to minors
Raty was sent to AHL Abbotsford on Friday.
Raty has two goals and four points in 20 NHL appearances in 2024-25. He was a healthy scratch for Thursday's 4-0 win over Florida, which coincided with J.T. Miller's (personal) return to the lineup. Now that Miller is available, the Canucks don't have any forwards on the shelf, so that might be why Raty was sent down, but it's possible this was a paper transaction. Max Sasson was also sent to the AHL on Friday, which leaves Vancouver with just 11 forwards on its roster. Unless there's a trade, Vancouver will presumably summon a forward before facing Boston on Saturday.

Canucks' Aatu Raty: Plucks apple in loss
Raty notched an assist and two hits in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Lightning.
Raty is holding down a role on the Canucks' fourth line, though he's bounced between center and wing, sharing the spots with Max Sasson. The 22-year-old Raty is up to four points, 11 shots on net, 46 hits and a minus-2 rating over 19 appearances. He still has some long-term appeal as a prospect, but he likely won't get enough ice time to make a major impact in fantasy in 2024-25.

Canucks' Aatu Raty: Scores in Wednesday's loss
Raty scored a goal, added four PIM and logged four hits in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Penguins.
Raty has two goals over his last five contests while holding down a steady fourth-line spot. The Canucks seem content with him in that role -- they didn't need to move him up the lineup, as Pius Suter shifted from wing to center to cover for J.T. Miller's (personal) absence. Raty is up to three points, nine shots on net, 35 hits and eight PIM through 14 contests, so he'll provide a bit of an edge, though his offense is likely too limited to help in fantasy.

Canucks' Aatu Raty: Puts away first goal of season
Raty scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Predators.
Raty also won 10 of 13 faceoffs, leading the team with a 76.9 percent win rate in the game. The goal was his first point since his season debut Oct. 9. The 22-year-old center can help his own cause by being strong at the dot in a fourth-line role. He's also added a physical element with 27 hits, eight shots on net, four PIM and a minus-2 rating in addition to his two points over 10 appearances.

Canucks' Aatu Raty: Sent to AHL
Raty was reassigned to AHL Abbotsford on Wednesday, Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports.
Raty has three goals and seven points in eight appearances with Abbotsford, as well as an assist in seven outings with Vancouver in 2024-25. He might be recalled before Thursday's game against the Islanders. Vancouver also sent Arshdeep Bains and Jonathan Lekkerimaki to the minors Wednesday, which leaves the Canucks will just nine healthy forwards on their active roster. Vancouver did that for salary cap reasons, but the squad will presumably summon forwards to fill that gap before Thursday's matchup.

Canucks' Aatu Raty: Earns assist in season debut
Raty logged an assist in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Flames.
Raty made the NHL roster out of training camp and got to play right away due to Pius Suter's (upper body) absence. Raty didn't make an NHL appearance last year, but he was excellent with 52 points in 72 regular-season outings for AHL Abbotsford. The Finnish forward, acquired from the Islanders in the Bo Horvat deal in January of 2023, may not be a full-time NHL option this year. Even if he does stick around with the big club, he'll likely be limited to bottom-six minutes.

Islanders' Aatu Raty: Recalled from AHL
Raty was recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Saturday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Raty was selected 52nd overall in 2021, but he was considered a top-three pick heading into his draft year, so there is a lot to like about the Finn. Raty has two goals in seven NHL games this season, and he's picked up seven goals and 15 points in 27 AHL games.

Raty was reassigned to AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday.
Raty has appeared in seven NHL games this season in which he recorded two goals, 10 shots and four PIM while averaging 8:25 of ice time. Raty's return to the minors could be an indication that Kyle Palmieri (upper body) could be ready to play heading into Thursday's matchup with the Wild, though he'll need to be activated off injured reserve first.
