Top Colton Dach News

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Needs evaluation

Dach sustained an apparent arm injury and will need to be evaluated further after exiting Thursday's game versus the Kings, per CHGO Sports.

Dach was hurt in the third period and will need to be checked out prior to Saturday's game versus the Blues. The 22-year-old's point drought is up to five contests after he was held off the scoresheet Thursday. Philipp Kurashev and Patrick Maroon are candidates to check into the lineup if Dach is forced to miss time.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Snags helper

Dach produced an assist, two shots on goal, three hits and seven PIM in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators.

Dach showed off a couple of different skill sets, earning a helper on an Alex Vlasic tally in the second period before fighting Justin Barron in the third. The fight was prompted by Barron's hit on Frank Nazar. Dach has three points, 13 PIM and 23 hits over his last six outings, and he's starting to see top-six minutes at even strength. The 22-year-old has a total of seven points, 17 PIM, 24 shots on net and 68 hits across 20 appearances as a rookie.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Back up with big club

Dach was recalled from AHL Rockford on Friday.

Dach was reassigned to Rockford for AHL playoff eligibility purposes. However, he's back with the Blackhawks and will likely stay with the team through the end of the NHL season. He's projected to play Friday on the first line against Utah.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Dipping toe in minors

Dach will be moved to the minors Friday in a paper transaction that will make him eligible for the AHL playoffs, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Dach will be back up with the club before the team faces Utah on Friday but needs to be in the minors when the trade deadline passes. Since Chicago won't be making the NHL playoffs, the move will allow the youngster to get some extra minutes after the season with AHL Rockford. In his 18 games for the Hawks this year, the Alberta native has generated two goals, four assists and 59 hits while averaging 11:39 of ice time.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Puts away goal

Dach scored a goal and added six hits in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Golden Knights.

This was Dach's second game back in the lineup since his Feb. 24 call-up from AHL Rockford. The 22-year-old was playing on the wing Thursday, but he could be pressed into action as a center after Nick Foligno (undisclosed) left the contest. Dach is up to two goals, five points, 20 shots, 51 hits and a plus-1 rating through 15 NHL appearances. He hasn't proven himself enough to be a factor in most redraft formats, but dynasty managers should keep an eye on his production over the remainder of the campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Scores first NHL goal

Dach scored a goal, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Lightning.

Dach's tally was the first of NHL career, coming in his 10th game. The 22-year-old tied the game at 1-1 at 16:29 of the first period. Dach has four points, 13 shots on net, 32 hits and an even plus-minus rating so far. He won't be an option for all fantasy managers, but he's got a bit of scoring upside and physicality for those in deeper formats.

Dach registered an assist and two hits in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Golden Knights.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Adds helper Friday

Dach notched an assist and three hits in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Red Wings.

Dach has a helper in each of the last two games after opening his NHL career with two scoreless efforts. The 22-year-old continues to play on the third line at even strength, and in an offense as thin as Chicago's, there's no guarantee he'll be able to sustain decent scoring numbers. Dach has contributed eight shots on net, 10 hits and a minus-1 rating through four outings. Fantasy managers in redraft formats can afford to wait and see if he performs well over a larger sample.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Earns first career assist

Dach logged an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche.

The Blackhawks' go-ahead goal in the second period was a glimpse into the future -- Dach's first career assist set up fellow prospect Frank Nazar's first NHL goal. The duo has played on the third line together recently while also working on the second power-play unit. Dach is at one assist, seven shots on net, seven hits and a minus-1 rating over three NHL contests.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Elevated from minors

Dach was called up from AHL Rockford on Thursday, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.

Dach could be in the mix to play against the Canadiens on Friday, though he is far from a lock to get into the lineup. If he does play, the 21-year-old Dach would be making his NHL debut versus his brother Kirby Dach. In the minors, the younger Dach has been rolling offensively with 25 points in 30 games this year for the IceHogs.

  • Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Sent down to minors

Dach (ankle) was activated off non-roster injured reserve and reassigned to AHL Rockford on Friday, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Dach was going to be hard-pressed to secure a spot on the 23-man roster even before sustaining his ankle injury during the preseason. Still, the 20-year-old center should be a candidate for the occasional recall once he gets some AHL games under his belt and puts his ankle to the test.
