Oilers' Roby Jarventie: Pens one-year deal with Edmonton

Jarventie signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Oilers on Tuesday.
Selected in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the Senators, Jarventie was dealt to the Oilers in July of 2024. The 22-year-old forward appeared in only two games with AHL Bakersfield in 2024-25, registering a pair of helpers. Barring injuries, Jarventie will most likely remain with the Condors in 2025-26, as he has just seven games of NHL experience.

Jarventie (knee) is being taken off season-opening injured reserved and reassigned to AHL Bakersfield on Friday, per PuckPedia.
Jarventie was acquired by Edmonton along with a 2025 fourth-round pick from Ottawa in July in exchange for Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson. The 22-year-old Jarventie spent the 2023-24 regular season between Ottawa and AHL Belleville, recording an assist in seven appearances with Ottawa as well as nine goals and 20 points across 22 minor-league outings.

Edmonton received Jarventie and a 2025 fourth-round pick from Ottawa on Monday in exchange for Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson.
Jarventie collected nine goals, 20 points and 22 PIM in 22 regular-season outings for AHL Belleville last season. He also registered one assist, five shots on goal, six blocked shots and five hits in seven NHL appearances with Ottawa during the 2023-24 campaign. Jarventie will probably begin the upcoming season in the minors but could be among the first call-ups by the Oilers if reinforcements are required.

Jarventie was returned to AHL Belleville on Sunday.
Jarventie has one assist, five shots on goal, six blocked shots and four hits in seven NHL outings this season. He has one goal and two helpers over six contests at the AHL level during the 2023-24 campaign.
