The Canadiens activated Brook (knee) off injured reserve and reassigned him to AHL Laval on Wednesday. • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Starts season on IR

Brook (knee) is listed on injured reserve, per CapFriendly. Brook was sent down during training camp, but it appears he's not fully healthy after all. The 22-year-old will begin the year on injured reserve, and he'll likely play for AHL Laval once healthy.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Designated for AHL

Brook (knee) was sent down to AHL Laval on Friday. Per NHL rules, Brook would need to have been medically cleared from his injury before being reassigned to the Rocket. The 2017 second-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut but could do so this year if he continues to show the same offensive upside to his game that saw him generate two goals and 13 assists in 33 contests last year.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Enters camp with knee injury

Brook (knee) failed his physical at the Canadiens' training camp. Brook spent 2020-21 with Krefeld Pinguine of Germany's DEL. It's unclear when the 22-year-old blueliner picked up the knee injury. Once healthy, he could be an option to play with AHL Laval this season.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Participates in practice

Brook (undisclosed) took the ice for practice Tuesday, Arpon Basu of The Athletic reports. Brook was deemed "unable to practice" Monday, but the 21-year-old blueliner was likely simply being held out due to fatigue or for maintenance. The 2017 second-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut, so he has virtually no shot at making an appearance during postseason play.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Unable to practice

Brook missed the start of training camp Monday after being deemed "unable to practice" per John Lu of TSN.ca. Brook was a longshot to ever get into the lineup for the Habs this season, so his potential absence shouldn't affect the majority of fantasy players. The 21-year-old defenseman notched 13 points in 60 games with AHL Laval this year, his first full season as a professional, and will likely need to spend at least another year developing in the minors.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: With club for training camp

Brook has been named to Montreal's Phase 3 training camp roster. Brook is coming off his first full season as a pro after making the jump from the WHL. In 60 games with the Rocket, the 21-year-old defenseman recorded four goals and nine helpers in 60 contests and likely will continue featuring extensively in the minors next year as well.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Rough start in rookie game

Brook was minus-3 in a 4-2 loss to Ottawa's rookies Saturday. Brook is a defenseman to watch at Montreal's rookie camp after he led all WHL blueliners in scoring with a 16-59-75 line while putting up a plus-25 for the Moose Jaw Warriors in 2018-19. In theory, he's challenging for a spot on Montreal's blue line, but the 2017 second-round draft pick (56th overall) is a longshot to make the NHL roster. He also played seven games for AHL Laval last season, picking up one assist and was minus-2.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Reassigned to AHL Laval

Brook was reassigned from WHL Moose Jaw to AHL Laval on Friday. Brook and the Warriors were swept in four games by the Saskatoon Blades in the first round of the WHL playoffs. Laval is a .500 team and almost certain to miss the AHL postseason, but Brook will get some valuable professional experience the rest of the way. The 2017 second-round selection (56th overall) posted 16 goals and 75 points in 59 games for Moose Jaw this season. Brook has quickly developed into the best defensive prospect in the Montreal system.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: On Team Canada

Brook will skate for Team Canada at the IIHF Under-20 Championship that kicks off in British Columbia on Wednesday, Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette reports. Brook, a second-round draft pick by Montreal in 2017, is an offensive-minded defenseman who fits the current mold in the NHL. The 6-foot-1, 192-pounder, has nine goals and 24 assists in 25 games for Moose Jaw of the Western Hockey League.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Averaging point per game

Brook (wrist) is back to 100 percent and scoring at a point-per-game rate through his first eight games. Brook -- who was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft -- missed the start of the 2017-18 campaign after undergoing wrist surgery in September. If he can continue to produce at this level, the blueliner won't be long for the junior ranks.

  • Canadiens' Josh Brook: Undergoes surgery Friday

Brook underwent wrist surgery Friday and is expected to be sidelined for three months. Brooks, a 2017 second-round pick, is only 18-years-old, so he's likely still a few seasons away from making his debut with the big club. Once healthy, the 6-foot-1 blueliner will probably be returned to his WHL club.
