  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Lands two-way deal

Callahan signed a one-year, two-way contract with Boston on Sunday. Callahan had one goal and nine points in 45 regular-season appearances with AHL Providence in 2024-25 before adding two assists in eight playoff outings. The 25-year-old defenseman also registered one goal, nine shots on net, eight hits and 12 blocked shots in 17 NHL games for Boston during the 2024-25 regular season. Callahan will probably spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Nets first career goal

Callahan scored a goal and dished out two hits in Tuesday's 7-2 win over New Jersey. After bouncing back and forth between AHL Providence and the NHL this season, Callahan found the back of the net for the first time in 16 games with Boston. Tuesday's goal was the 25-year-old blueliner's first point of the season and is an encouraging sign for the future if he can secure a full-time spot with the Bruins next season -- assuming he re-signs with Boston in the offseason. Additionally, with Hampus Lindholm (kneecap) set to return to the defensive core next season, this will be no easy task for the lefty-shot Callahan, so he may need to sign elsewhere.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Back to Providence

Callahan was reassigned to AHL Providence on Friday. Callahan has played 11 games with the Bruins this season and has yet to hit the scoresheet. The 25-year-old defenseman had one goal and five helpers across 36 AHL games before being recalled.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Heads to minors

Callahan was reassigned to AHL Providence on Saturday, per Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal. Callahan recorded one block in 9:29 of ice time in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Vegas. The 25-year-old defender has played in seven of the last eight games and could return to the NHL after the 4 Nations Face-Off. He hasn't earned a point in eight appearances with Boston this season.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Suffers upper-body injury

Callahan sustained an upper-body injury Saturday and won't return to Boston's clash against the Rangers Callahan logged just 5:49 of ice time before exiting the game. If Callahan doesn't play against Minnesota on Tuesday, Parker Wotherspoon will likely draw back into the lineup.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Elevated from minors

Callahan was promoted from AHL Providence on Tuesday. Callahan has yet to make his NHL debut since being selected by the Coyotes in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft. A product of Providence College, the Massachusetts native has stuck around with AHL Providence, generating one goal and five assists in 35 minor-league outings. Callahan figures to serve as an emergency depth option and would likely need to edge out Parker Wotherspoon for a spot in the lineup.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Headed to Providence

Callahan was assigned to AHL Providence on Sunday. Callahan was drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Coyotes, but he never signed with the now defunct club. The 25-year-old will continue developing his game with the Providence Bruins -- the left-shot blueliner registered 17 points in 70 regular-season outings with the team last season.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Signs one-year deal

Callahan penned a one-year, two-way contract with Boston on Friday. Callahan has yet to make his NHL debut after being selected by the Coyotes in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft. Last year, the 24-year-old defenseman generated four goals and 13 helpers in 70 regular-season contests. While Callahan could make his debut this year, he figures to spend the bulk of the campaign in the minors with AHL Providence.
