  • Canadiens' Kirby Dach: Headed to Canadiens

The Blackhawks traded Dach to the Canadiens on Thursday in exchange for the 13th and 66th overall picks in this year's Entry Draft, Pierre Lebrun of The Athletic reports. Chicago is in full rebuild mode after trading Alex DeBrincat to Ottawa earlier in the day, although one could easily argue the 21-year-old Dach could have been part of the long-term solution for the Blackhawks. Dach has been banged up often throughout his brief NHL career, yet talented, big-bodied centers of Dach's age are notoriously difficult to get your hands on and Montreal had no issues trading multiple high picks to acquire him. The Habs fill their No. 2 center void behind Nick Suzuki with this trade after the club passed on Shane Wright with the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday's draft, instead opting for winger Juraj Slafkovsky. Health permitting, Dach should blow past his previous career high of nine goals and 26 points set this past season.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Set to miss last three games

Dach (shoulder) is not expected to play in Chicago's last three games, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports Monday. Dach has already been on the shelf for the team's previous five outings and now is poised to miss another three. The 21-year-old natural center was able to practice with the team in a non-contact jersey Monday, so it's unlikely his injury will linger into next season. On the year, Dach set new personal bests in games (70), goals (nine) and assists (17) and will no doubt be eager to build upon that in 2022-23.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Not traveling with team

Dach (shoulder) will not travel during the upcoming three-game road trip, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports. As expected, Dach will miss at least three more games while dealing with a shoulder issue. The 21-year-old could return as early as April 25 against the Flyers but the team doesn't have a clear timeline at the moment. He's scored 26 points through 70 games this season.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Status uncertain ahead of road trip

Dach (shoulder) may not be able to travel with the team for its upcoming three-game road trip, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports Monday. Dach has already been ruled out versus Calgary on Monday due to his shoulder problem and could be out of action even longer. While coach Derek King still classified the Alberta native's injury as day-to-day, the fact that he may not travel with the team would seem to indicate a more serious injury. Still, with nothing to play for aside from pride the rest of the way, there is no reason for the Hawks to rush Dach back into the lineup.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Dealing with sprained shoulder

Dach suffered a right shoulder sprain during Thursday's loss to San Jose, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports. The Blackhawks have yet to release an expected timetable for Dach's recovery, but it's probably safe to assume he'll be sidelined for a few contests at a minimum. With Dach on the shelf, look for Dominik Kubalik, Tyler Johnson or Henrik Borgstrom to enter the lineup Saturday against the Predators.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Puts up two points in loss

Dach scored a goal on four shots and added a power-play assist in Sunday's 6-4 loss the Stars. It had been nearly two months since Dach's last multi-point effort, a two-assist game versus the Jets on Feb. 14. The 21-year-old forward has seen time both down the middle and on the wing as the Blackhawks try to figure out where he best fits. Dach's got nine goals and 26 points this season, both of which are career highs. He's added 114 shots on net, 46 hits, 43 PIM and a minus-16 rating through 68 appearances.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Absent from morning skate

Dach is dealing with a non-COVID-19 illness and did not take part in Monday's morning skate ahead of the game against Buffalo, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Dach has yet to be ruled out, but he should probably be considered a game-time decision against the visiting Sabres. He has 23 points in 63 contests this year but is currently mired in a six-game point drought.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Garners assist in victory

Dach posted an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Senators. Dach has officially mirrored his rookie totals with eight assists and 15 assists on the season, though he's been inconsistent and fantasy managers probably have come to expect more from the 2019 third overall pick.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Stays warm with assist

Dach registered a power-play assist and went minus-2 in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Blue Jackets. Dach also went 1-for-9 in the faceoff dot, so it wasn't a great game for the young center. He helped out on Philipp Kurashev's tally in the first period. Dach has a goal and five helpers in his last six games, though his assist Thursday was his first power-play point since Dec. 15. For the season, the 21-year-old is up to 20 points (five on the power play), 82 shots on net, 33 PIM and a minus-3 rating in 47 contests.

With Jonathan Toews (concussion) still expected to be out for a while, Dach will continue centering the second line. He's up to 18 points, 82 shots on net, 32 hits and a minus-1 rating through 46 appearances.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Two points against Edmonton

Dach scored a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Oilers. The 21-year-old appears to have shaken off his January slump, collecting a goal and three points in his last three games after managing only one point (a goal) in the 12 games prior. On the season, Dach has seven goals and 17 points in 44 contests.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Hands out helper

Dach produced an assist and went minus-2 in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Canucks. Dach ended a seven-game point drought with his helper on Connor Murphy's goal in the third period. The 21-year-old Dach missed three games over that span due to the COVID-19 protocols. The young center filled in on the second line Monday with Jonathan Toews (concussion) out of the lineup. With 15 points, 73 shots on net, a minus-3 rating and 33 PIM in 42 contests, Dach still has a fair amount to prove before he can be trusted in standard redraft formats.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Finds twine Thursday

Dach scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Coyotes. Dach got the Blackhawks on the board at 1:01 of the second period. The tally snapped the center's four-game point drought. The Alberta native is at six goals, 14 points, 62 shots on net, 31 PIM and a minus-5 rating in 34 contests overall. While he was listed on the third line Thursday, he led all Chicago forwards with 23:08 of ice time, so there's little reason to be concerned about his role despite the inconsistent offense.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Tallies in overtime loss

Dach scored a goal and blocked two shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators. Dach tied the game at 1-1 just 2:01 after Thomas Novak opened the scoring in the first period. The goal was Dach's second in his last five games and his fifth of the year. The 20-year-old center is up to 13 points, 49 shots on net, 25 PIM and a minus-1 rating through 29 contests this season. He'll likely continue to shuffle up and down the lineup, which damages his chances to develop some consistency.

Dach notched two assists and three shots on goal in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Capitals. In overtime, a Dach shot led to Caleb Jones scoring the game-winner on a rebound. Dach has now produced two multi-point games this year. He's at four goals, eight assists, 48 shots on net, 25 PIM and a minus-2 rating in 28 contests.

  • Blackhawks' Kirby Dach: Ends goal drought in loss

Dach scored a goal, levied three hits and added two PIM in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Rangers. Dach gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead at 7:09 of the first period, but that was the extent of their offense. He snapped a 17-game goal drought, during which he only picked up five helpers. Dach has seemingly taken a step backward in his development with 10 points, 44 shots on net, 23 PIM, 18 hits and a minus-2 rating through 25 contests. He had that same scoring output in just 18 games last season.
