Mexico has been the dominant force in Concacaf for the majority of its existence. Through three games of 2022 Concacaf World Cup Qualifying, it sits atop the table. On Thursday, it will host second-place Canada in a pivotal matchup for both sides with the countries tightly bunched in the Octagonal. It's been a one-sided rivalry, with Canada having failed to beat Mexico since the 2000 Gold Cup, but this is Canada's most talented team ever. Now, the two North American rivals will go head-to-head and you can catch all the action live on Paramount+.

Kick-off is set for 9:40 p.m. ET at vaunted Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Mexico is the -175 favorite (risk $175 to win $100) on the 90-minute money-line in the latest Mexico vs. Canada odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Canada is a +480 underdog with the draw at +240. For Mexico vs. Canada, Gonzalez is picking Mexico to win to nil at +120 odds. The two sides first began playing each other in 1957 and Mexico has 22 wins, eight draws and just three losses in the 64 years since. Two of Canada's three wins came in Canada in a World Cup qualifier in 1976 and the North American Championship in 1990.

The other victory came in San Diego at the 2000 Concacaf Gold Cup, but the Canadians haven't managed so much as a draw since a World Cup qualifier in Canada in 2008. After going younger during other international breaks this year, Mexico has called up a number of veterans who have proven themselves at this level like Hector Moreno, Andres Guardado, Hector Herrera and Guillermo Ochoa.

That experience should pay dividends against a young Canadian side that features players like Jonathan David, Alphonso Davies and Alistair Johnson who simply haven't been tested at Estadio Azteca yet. Gonzalez says that Tata Martino and Mexico know that a victory here would put them in the driver's seat to win the group and comfortably qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is why he likes Mexico to extend its dominance.
