Report: Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo could face a five-year prison sentence

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could face a five-year prison sentence for tax fraud, according to Marca. Citing officials from the Spanish Ministry of Finance, it is believed that Ronaldo failed to pay millions in tax between 2011 and 2013.
Allegedly, 8 to 15 million euros were not declared to authorities over those years.
Marca says a prison sentence of two to six years could be applied to each crime and estimate that a total sentence of five years could be given. In Spain, if the first sentence for such a crime is for less than two years, no time has to be served, as we have seen with Lionel Messi's tax case, which was upheld by Spanish court on Wednesday.
If he is given more than two years, it is possible we could see him receive jail time, but it is still too early to tell as there hasn't been a trial. And, if Ronaldo did commit tax fraud, he could potentially pay most of it back quickly and likely reduce any potential sentence.
