U.S. soccer's biggest star Pulisic says playing in MLS is not 'out of the question'
We could see him in MLS down the road, but when that is remains to be seen
Everybody knows Christian Pulisic is comfortable at Borussia Dortmund. The young American soccer prodigy, after all, has become a vital part of the team and is just 18 years old. The Hershey, Pennsylvania native made 41 appearances for the club this season, scored seven goals in the process and has earned the faith of manager Thomas Tuchel, starting important Champions League matches as well.
Now, we don't know what the future holds for the young star. We've seen the interest from Liverpool, and there's always the question if we could see him in Major League Soccer at some point. Though that likely won't be for many years, the player spoke about the league to The Guardian, saying playing in MLS is a possibility.
"I'd never put that out of the question," he said. "Playing in your home country would be special. Obviously I don't have any immediate plans to do that but it's always an option. You see so many people at the games now and it's exciting. We have a really strong soccer league we can build on."
That's some nice praise from the rising Dortmund star. It's early, but it is hard to see Pulisic playing in MLS before the age of say, 32, if he progresses as expected. The quality in Europe, the chance to win major titles is likely too enticing to give up before that. But if he does come at some point, keep an eye on the Philadelphia Union. After all, Philly is just 95 miles miles east of Hershey.
