WATCH: NC State joyfully uses field as Slip'N Slide after beating Notre Dame
No one had more fun than NC State after the end of a game in Hurricane Matthew
Hurricane Matthew had a huge impact on college football this weekend. Some games, like LSU at Florida, were postponed. Others, like Georgia at South Carolina, were moved to Sunday.
NC State's nationally televised contest against Notre Dame, on the other hand, went on as scheduled -- with the elements playing a huge role in a hard-fought win against the Irish.
The game had one lightning delay, featured no shortage of sloppy water bloopers and came down to the final drive with Notre Dame marching for the game-tying score. The game ended appropriately, with the football becoming a greased watermelon for Deshone Kizer and the Wolfpack holding on for the win.
After the game went final, NC State's players and the fans who toughed out the conditions experienced a celebration they'll remember forever. Beating Notre Dame at home is great -- doing so in the middle of a hurricane is unforgettable.
The Wolfpack were tired, wet and muddy, but since you can't get any wetter or muddier they turned Carter-Finley Stadium into a Slip'N Slide to celebrate.
