Guion (suspension) was charged with driving under the influence on Wednesday morning in Hawaii, ESPN.com reports.
The DUI is the latest in a string of off-the-field issues surrounding the defensive tackle. Guion has already been suspended for the first four games of the season after violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. As a result, the Packers restructured the final two years of his contract, but this now may be the final straw for Green Bay, who has yet to comment on the matter. If he remains on the roster, there's a solid chance his suspension will be lengthened.
Guion (suspension) had the final two years of his contract restructured Friday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
The Packers aren't giving up on the defensive tackle after he was handed a four-game suspension earlier this week. It's his second suspension in the past three seasons, which left some to question whether the veteran would remain in the Green and Gold for the upcoming year. Under his restructured deal, Guion will collect two offseason roster bonuses later in the season. He will be allowed to participate in offseason workouts, practices, and preseason games as the suspension will not take effect until Week 1 of the regular season.
Guion has been suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season after violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
It will be Guion's second suspension in three seasons, as he missed the first three games of the 2015 season due to an offseason arrest. The 29-year-old is slated to be the starting nose tackle for the upcoming season, but the Packers now may target a lineman through the draft or free agency to bolster the defensive line depth. Last season, Guion recorded 30 tackles and one pass defensed in 15 games.
Guion recorded 30 tackles and one pass defensed in 15 games played in 2016.
Guion saw a bit of an increased role in 2016 after B.J. Raji retired last offseason. Guion was on the field for 43.5 percent of Green Bay's defensive snaps and, though he didn't rack up large numbers, was a large contributor to the team's eighth-ranked run defense. He'll likely see a similar role with the team in 2017.
Guion was listed as doubtful heading into Sunday's game after not practicing all week, so it's unsurprising that he'll sit out after sustaining an MCL sprain in the Week 2 loss to the Vikings. Rookie Kenny Clark will likely see extended snaps with Guion removed from the defensive line rotation.
