Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua betting preview

Jake Paul has made a career of boxing athletes whose main sport wasn't boxing, progressed to some lower-level boxers before cashing in on some big-name payday fights against former champions significantly past their prime fighting days, such as Mike Tyson and Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. Anthony Joshua, a two-time unified heavyweight champion, doesn't fall under any of these categories, as the 36-year-old is 28-4 over his career, including winning four of his last five fights since April 2023. Joshua, at 6-foot-6, has a significant height advantage over the 6-1 Paul with a six-inch greater reach (82 for Joshua, 76 for Paul).

Paul, 28, does have the youth advantage once again, but not nearly as significantly as in some of his other most recent fights. Paul enters 12-1 with seven knockouts, and he's won six straight fights since falling to Tommy Fury by split decision in February 2023. Joshua has won 25 of his 28 fights via knockout, something Paul haters are likely pulling to see on Friday.

Friday's contest features eight three-minute rounds with 10-ounce gloves, and Joshua must weigh 245 pounds or less. Paul weighed 199.4 pounds in his fight against Chavez in June, but fought at 227 pounds against Tyson in November 2024. Joshua is the -1200 favorite, with Paul as the +700 underdog in the latest Paul vs. Joshua odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. For method of victory betting, Joshua is -360 to win by KO/TKO and +450 to win by points or decision. Paul's best odds come via KO/TKO at +1100, closely followed by points or decision at +1300. A draw is priced at +2500. Bet on Paul vs. Joshua at FanDuel Sportsbook, where new users get $250 in bonus bets if your first $5 bet wins:
