BALTIMORE (AP) Demetrius Isaac scored 18 points and Division II Chestnut Hill College sidestepped Coppin State's second half comeback bid for a 76-73 win on Monday night.

It was the eighth consecutive loss to open the season for Coppin State.

Dakpe Yiljep added 17 points and nine rebounds and Liban Awl finished with 13 points for the Griffins, who held Coppin State to 42.9 percent shooting and 4 of 16 from 3-point range.

The Griffins led by 13 in the first half and took a 40-33 lead at halftime. An Awl 3-point play put Chestnut Hill up 69-58 with 5:45 to go. The Eagles responded with a 13-4 stretch, cutting their deficit to 73-71 on two Juwan Davenport free throws with 58 seconds left.

Coppin State had a final chance to tie it on its last possession, but Tre' Thomas' 3 was off the mark.

Dejaun Clayton led the Eagles with 19 points.
