CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Zac Cuthbertson scored 22 points in just 16 minutes of action as Costal Carolina drubbed Piedmont International 102-50 in the season opener Friday night.

The Chanticleers shot 54.9 percent from the field and five players reached double-figure scoring. Jaylen Shaw was perfect shooting, hitting all five field goal attempts, including a trey, and was 3-for-3 from the line. The team was 39 of 71 from the floor, 9 of 24 from deep.

Coastal Carolina got off to a fast start, hitting 21 of its 30 field goal attempts (70 percent) in the first half, hitting 7 of 13 shots from distance.

Troy Mix and Colton Bishop scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, to lead the Bruins, who compete in the NCCAA. Piedmont International was 20 of 65 from the field (30.8 percent).

Coastal Carolina plays its next four games on the road, including three games at the Bahama Showcase.
