WASHINGTON (AP) RJ Cole and Charles Williams scored 25 apiece and Howard dominated Delaware State in a 93-74 victory Saturday, halting a two-game slide.

Cole, a 6-foot-1 freshman guard, has scored in double figures in all 30 games this season. Williams, a 6-6 sophomore, has reached double-digit scoring in 27 games.

Cole hit a 3-pointer that erased Delaware State's only lead of the game, Williams followed with a layup and the duo combined for 15 straight points over the next 3:34, giving Howard (9-21, 6-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) an 11-point edge.

Cole is the MEAC leader in both scoring and assists and he dished eight against the Hornets.

Delaware State (3-26, 1-13) was coming off a win against Coppin State that snapped a 21-game losing streak and earned its first victory against a Division I opponent this season. Despite the breakthrough, the school announced coach Keith Walker was out. The Hornets were coached by assistant Keith Johnson, who was named interim coach.

Ameer Bennett led Delaware State with 16 points and Jonathan Walker added 15.
