JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Caleb Johnson scored 12 points to help Jacksonville State defeat Brescia 91-41 on Tuesday in a season opener.

Johnson was 5 of 9 shooting (2 for 4 from 3-point range) for the Gamecocks. Travis Roberts scored 12 points while going 5 of 7 from the field. Andres Burney had 11 points and shot 3 of 4 from the field and 5 for 5 from the line.

The Bearcats were led by Camden Pfeister, who posted 10 points and two steals. Ksaun Casey added eight points and six rebounds for Brescia. In addition, Gonzalo Luque finished with eight points.
