Stafford scores 17 in Valparaiso's 71-59 win against Southern
VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) Isaiah Stafford's 17 points helped Valparaiso defeat Southern 71-59 on Saturday night.
Stafford had nine rebounds for the Beacons (4-2). Cooper Schwieger scored 17 points while going 6 of 9 and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, and added seven rebounds. Sherman Weatherspoon IV had eight points and was 2-of 6 shooting (2 for 4 from 3-point range).
Tai'Reon Joseph led the way for the Jaguars (1-5) with 15 points. Jalen Reynolds added 10 points and six rebounds for Southern. Brandon Davis also had 10 points.
