Why Arizona can cover

The Wildcats were the Pac-12 regular-season champions and the conference tournament champions, beating UCLA 84-76 last Saturday to cement its No. 1 seed. Bennedict Mathurin had 27 points, seven assists and four rebounds to go along with a block and a steal in the win and the Pac-12 Player of the Year will be eager as Arizona makes its first March Madness appearance since 2018.

Arizona ranked fifth in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency (119.6) and 20th in adjusted defensive efficiency (92.4). Arizona's size will be difficult to match up with throughout the NCAA Tournament, but Wright State could be particularly challenged. Azuolas Tubelis, Christian Koloko and Oumar Ballo are all 6-foot-11 or taller and are part of Arizona's core rotation while Wright State doesn't have anybody taller than 6-foot-9 on its roster.

Why Wright State can cover

The Raiders are coming off a big 93-82 win over Bryant in Dayton on Wednesday. The First Four victory was the first NCAA Tournament win in program history and the Wright State offense will be hoping to carry over the momentum from its performance. Tanner Holden had 37 points and 11 rebounds in the win, while Trey Calvin had 21 points and Grant Basile finished with 14 points.

That trio combined to average 53.2 points per game throughout the season but have exceeded that average considerably in the last three games. Holden, Calvin and Basile combined for 56 points against Cleveland State, 58 points against Northern Kentucky and then 72 points against Bryant, which were all elimination games. They'll have to stay hot to keep up with a loaded Arizona squad on Friday.
