Who's Playing
Syracuse @ Georgetown
Current Records: Syracuse 5-4; Georgetown 4-4
What to Know
The Syracuse Orange and the Georgetown Hoyas are even-steven against one another since December of 2015 (3-3), but not for long. The Orange will head out on the road to face off against Georgetown at noon ET Saturday at Capital One Arena. 'Cuse won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy a 4-point advantage in the spread.
The game between 'Cuse and the Villanova Wildcats on Tuesday was not particularly close, with 'Cuse falling 67-53. Guard Buddy Boeheim had a rough night: he finished with only six points on 3-for-15 shooting in his 38 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, everything went Georgetown's way against the Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers on Wednesday as they made off with a 100-71 victory. Guard Kaiden Rice was the offensive standout of the contest for the Hoyas, shooting 10-for-12 from beyond the arc and finishing with 34 points. Rice hadn't helped his team much against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday, so this was a nice turnaround for him. Rice's points were the most he has had all year.
The Orange are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Colgate Raiders Nov. 20 easily too and instead slipped up with a 100-85. In other words, don't count Georgetown out just yet.
