The family of Shabazz Muhammad (left) has gone public, and the case has gotten ugly. (US Presswire)

When will the Shabazz Muhammad mess at UCLA come to an end? Should a future lottery pick continue to sit by while the NCAA takes its time? Does it hurt Muhammad to have his family and lawyers go to the press and fight this publicly against the NCAA? Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Eisenberg comes back on the podcast to discuss the quagmire there, in addition to looking ahead the best early season tournaments, some of which are already underway.

Rundown:

  • From the beginning: Things get very O.C.-heavy right away.
  • 3:20: Getting to the Shabazz stuff. How tiring is this story already? Yet there is news to be discussed. Oh, there is so much to be discussed.
  • 9:25: Let's transition and look at UCLA as a team right now. It almost lost to UC-Irvine a few nights ago. Even if they do get Shabazz eventually, is this team really all that good?
  • 12:15: Here's why I think Ben Howland has trouble these days and isn't creating Final Four-capable teams like he did for that three-year stretch.
  • 15:25: If you missed it Thursday, the Oregon eligibility case of Arsalan Kazemi was nice news. But is this team by any means tournament-worthy because of it?
  • 17:15: After a miserable past few years, now the Pac-12 looks to be on the upswing.
  • 19:50: OK, we've got a lot of hoops in a lot of places and tournaments happening now and through the end of next weekend. Where to watch, and what to look for?
  • 24:10: Wrapping it up with the aircraft carrier talk, and only because Jeff was actually at the one in San Diego last Sunday and can speak from experience on whether these things should end or not.
