Which teams to root for? Ask the Palm Reader
The Palm Reader is the newest tool from CBSSports.com, and it's perfect for fans everywhere who need something to root for every night.
When your team is playing, it’s obvious what you’re going to root for: your team to win. But what about when that team has the night off?
Enter the Palm Reader.
The new feature from Bracketology expert Jerry Palm and CBSSports.com shows exactly what fans should root for in order for their team to improve its standing in the RPI -- which could therein impact its NCAA tournament status. Each night, you can choose any team in the country and the tool will show you what games matter -- and who has to win -- for that team’s RPI.
Let’s look at a couple examples. As you can see below, we chose Creighton -- although you can put any team into the “Select a Team” space. Below that space, it shows Creighton’s current RPI, as well as the Bluejays’ overall record and conference record. But it’s the right side that makes the Palm Reader special.

The screenshot shows six of the results that Creighton fans should root for, but the tool finds all meaningful games. On Wednesday, there are eight games that impact the Bluejays’ RPI, although there could be 20 games on Saturdays that are worth watching.
It doesn't just work for bubble teams, either. As Kansas tries to play itself back into the No. 1 seed line, what do the Jayhawks have to do? Well, beating Iowa State on Monday night helped -- but they now have off until the weekend. That doesn't mean there aren't any meaningful games for Kansas fans to keep an eye on.

Oh, and as you can see, it tells you where to watch the game on TV. Is there anything the Palm Reader can't do?
