Auburn defensive back Rudy Ford is confident in the defense's ability to slow LSU running back Leonard Fournette when the two teams meet on Saturday in Death Valley. So much so that when asked about stopping No. 7, Ford said the task "shouldn't be difficult."

Ford spoke with the kind of confidence you'd expect. I suspect it came from a passionate address from defensive coordinator Will Muschamp and his staff regarding the Tigers' ground game.

All this comes after Fournette ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns (at 5.68 yards per carry) in the Tigers' debut at Mississippi State. The performance made Fournette the CBS Sports SEC Player of the Week and has the Bayou Bengals as the betting favorites for Saturday's SEC West showdown.

Here's the way it played out in the press conference on Tuesday at Auburn:

Reporter: You started off by saying you have to stop No. 7. How difficult of a challenge will that be?

Ford: That shouldn't be difficult. Not that much of a challenge. We got a great front seven, and even on the back end we're all going to be ready to tackle. Our biggest thing is our energy level. As soon as we get off that bus we're ready to attack. Don't take anything lightly. We all gotta be ready to go.

Judging by Fournette's recent Twitter activity, it is safe to assume he knows his name is being mentioned.

Auburn and LSU kick off 3:30 p.m. ET in Baton Rouge and can be seen on CBS and CBSSports.com as the SEC Game of the Week.
