The college football "confidence pool" is gathering momentum as an annual rite of bowl season for both diehard and casual fans, and the crew from Eye on College Football will be among the participants in this year's competition.

Expert Picks: All the bowl games

If you're not familiar with the confidence pool concept, it goes like this:

• Decide whether you want to just pick prospective winners, or play against the spread. Here's the current lines for all 38 bowls.

• Rank your picks in order of how confident you are that you've picked the right side, numbering them from 38 (most confident) to 1 (least confident).

• Every time you pick the right winner or against-the-spread winner, you get the number of confidence points you've assigned to that game. When bowl season ends, after you've wiped up your tears of mourning over the end of another college football season, tally up your points and compare with your friends, with whom you've been competing for entertainment purposes only.
