It's been a big last couple of months for Cardale Jones, what with the going from anonymous backup to Big Ten title- and national championship-winning quarterback and all. The only possible nit he might want to pick with his life since last November: his jersey-number-based nickname "12 Gauge" hasn't really seemed to catch on quite yet.

Fortunately, the Ohio state legislature is here to do its part. Jones didn't receive an official state recommendation Tuesday, no sir -- Cardale "12 Gauge" Jones did, and Jones tweeted out the commendation itself to prove it:

The proclamation was issued by Ohio 10th House District representative Bill Patmon, who clearly knows a good nickname -- or at least, a good press opportunity -- when he sees one.
