Wilson failed to secure either of his targets during Miami's 38-10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Wilson failed to secure more than a single catch in any of the 10 regular-season appearances he logged with the Dolphins in 2025, finishing the year with a 5-44-0 receiving line on nine targets. The 30-year-old veteran is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Whether he re-signs with Miami or competes for a depth role elsewhere, Wilson's best odds of sticking with a team for the 2026 campaign will likely be as a member of a practice squad.

Dolphins' Cedrick Wilson: Makes one catch in Week 17 win
Wilson secured one of two targets for eight yards during Miami's 20-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Wilson saw an opportunity to handle increased opportunities on offense versus Tampa Bay, as Jaylen Waddle was kept on the sideline between the middle of the second quarter and end of the third quarter due to a ribs injury. Wilson went without a target while playing 10 of the Dolphins' 50 snaps on offense in Monday's 28-15 loss to the Steelers.
After being a healthy inactive in Weeks 6 and 7 once he overcame a knee injury, Wilson has suited up in seven consecutive games for Miami. Wilson caught two of three targets for eight yards during Sunday's 28-19 preseason loss to the Broncos.
Wilson appeared in all three preseason contests for the Saints, totaling six receptions (on eight targets) for 53 yards. The 29-year-old had been competing with Mason Tipton, Kevin Austin and Dante Pettis for a spot as one of the top backup wide receivers behind Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks. But he was pushed even further down the depth chart after New Orleans traded a fourth-round and seventh-round pick to acquire Devaughn Vele from the Broncos on Wednesday. Wilson is entering the final season of a two-year contract with New Orleans, and he agreed to reduce his 2025 base salary from $3.4 million to $1.17 million back in March, which should make it fairly easy for the Saints to move on if they choose to keep Tipton and Austin on the final 53-man roster over Wilson.

Wilson agreed Wednesday to rework his contract with the Saints, reducing his 2015 base salary from $3.4 million to $1.17 million, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
The new salary is league minimum for a player with Wilson's service time. The move improves his chances of earning a roster spot, and the contract is still scheduled to void after the 2025 season. The 29-year-old played 15 games for the Saints in 2024, catching 20 of 27 targets for 211 yards and one touchdown while mostly serving as the team's third or fourth wide receiver.
