Will Sheppard: Back with Packers on practice squad
Green Bay signed Sheppard to the practice squad Wednesday.
Sheppard joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent this summer. He didn't make the team's initial 53-man roster but remained with the organization on the practice squad before signing to the active roster last Wednesday. Sheppard didn't end up playing on Thanksgiving against Detroit, and he was subsequently waived before ending up back on the practice squad Wednesday.

The Packers waived Sheppard on Monday.
Sheppard was signed to the active roster ahead of Green Bay's Thanksgiving matchup against the Lions. While he was active for the contest, he did not log a snap. Sheppard is a candidate to rejoin the Packers' practice squad.

Packers' Will Sheppard: Joins active roster
The Packers signed Sheppard off their practice squad Wednesday.
The 23-year-old wideout joined the Packers' practice squad in late August and has now been promoted to the active roster. Sheppard has yet to make his NFL debut after tallying 1,305 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 95 receptions during his final two collegiate seasons at Vanderbilt and Colorado, respectively. He could play a depth role in the Week 13 matchup against the Lions on Thursday, as Matthew Golden (wrist), Dontayvion Wicks (calf), Savion Williams (foot) and Jayden Reed (foot) are all dealing with injuries.

Sheppard went unclaimed on waivers after being let go by the team Tuesday, and he will now hang around Green Bay as a member of the practice unit. The wide receiver will look to earn an elevation to the active roster and make his NFL debut in 2025.

Sheppard was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official website reports.
Sheppard signed a deal with Green Bay in late July after going undrafted in April, catching three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown over two preseason contests. The wide receiver will now look for his next opportunity, which will likely come with a team's practice squad ahead of the 2025 campaign.
