McFadden (undisclosed) reverted to the Lions' injured reserve list Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction page.
It's unclear what sort of injury McFadden is dealing with, but he'll have to sit out the first eight games of the 2019 season at least. He'll remain on Detroit's injured reserve for the rest of the season barring an injury settlement.

McFadden did not appear in a single game with the 49ers last season after going undrafted out of Florida State. Despite rejoining the team on a reserve/future contract earlier this offseason, he now parts ways with the 49ers set to make room for a new wave of undrafted rookies.

McFadden signed a reserve/future contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
McFadden can begin training with the Niners when the team's offseason program opens April 15. The Florida State product should be viewed as somewhat of a long shot to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.
