Bailey was waived by the Panthers on Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports.
Bailey appeared in all three of the Panthers' preseason games, racking up 58 rushing yards on 14 carries. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the running back could very well remain with Carolina as a member of the team's practice squad.

Carolina signed Bailey to a reserve/futures contract Tuesday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Bailey spent the entire 2024 season on the practice squads of the Chiefs and Panthers, and now he'll be starting next season in the same place he left off. The main candidates for significant roles in Carolina's backfield in 2025 include Chuba Hubbard (knee), Jonathon Brooks (knee) and Miles Sanders.

Bailey was cut from the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Bailey joined Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in the spring, and, despite not making their 53-man roster out of training camp, he managed to secure a spot on their practice squad. However, for now, his time with the Chiefs franchise will end and he'll have to work to find another opportunity.

It was a roller-coaster week for Bailey -- he was waived by Kansas City on Tuesday, signed to the practice squad Wednesday, cut Friday and then re-signed to the practice squad Saturday. The Chiefs also signed defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu to their practice squad Saturday while cutting defensive linemen Matt Dickerson and Neil Farrell.

Bailey was unable to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster, losing out to Carson Steele for the No. 4 running back job. Bailey rushed for 29 yards on 10 carries and caught one pass for four yards across the Chiefs' three preseason games. He was signed to the practice squad Wednesday, but he will be let go to make room for quarterback Bailey Zappe on the practice squad.

Bailey intends to sign with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Bailey (5-foot-7, 206 pounds) started his college career at Louisiana before transferring to TCU after a strong redshirt freshman season. As a one-year starter for the Horned Frogs, Bailey registered a 223-1,209-8 rushing season, adding 25-184-1 as a receiver after Kendre Miller and Emari Demercado left college for the NFL the year before. Bailey will try to win a job behind Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire this summer.
