49ers' Alfred Collins: Will play against Arizona
Collins (hip) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Collins was a full participant in Friday's practice, and his lack of an injury tag puts him on track to return Sunday from a one-game absence due to a hip injury. His return means there will be less rotational snaps at defensive tackle available for Kevin Givens, Jordan Elliott and CJ West. Collins has accumulated eight tackles (two solo), one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries across nine regular-season games.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Back at practice to begin week
Collins (hip) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Collins missed practice last Thursday and Friday due to a hip issue, and he sat out Sunday's loss to the Rams. The fact he was able to return to practice Wednesday (albeit in a limited capacity) is an indication that he's progressing in his recovery, though it's not clear if he'll be able to return to action Sunday versus Arizona. Jordan Elliott and Kevin Givens both logged more defensive snaps than usual with Collins absent Week 10.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Won't play Week 10
Collins (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.
Collins appeared on Thursday's practice report as a DNP due to a hip injury, which also prevented him from practicing Friday. The injury is severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's NFC West tilt, which means there are more snaps at defensive tackle available for the likes of Jordan Elliott, Kevin Givens and CJ West. Collins will look to progress enough in his recovery to be available for Week 11 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Nov. 16.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Questionable after two DNPs
Collins (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Collins appeared on Thursday's injury report due to a hip injury, which was severe enough for him to miss the final two practices of Week 10 prep. He's still listed as questionable against the Rams, so his status for Sunday's game may not be officially known until the 49ers announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Kevin Givens, Jordan Elliott and CJ West could all see more snaps at defensive takcle in Week 10, given that Collins and Kalia Davis (ankle) are both listed as questionable.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Lands on injury report
Collins (hip) did not participate in Thursday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
The defensive tackle was not listed on Wednesday's injury report. Collins has played in more than half the defensive snaps in each of San Francisco's last five games. Kevin Givens, Jordan Elliott and CJ West are the 49ers' reserve defensive tackles.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Set to play vs. Tampa Bay
Collins (knee) will play in the 49ers' matchup versus the Buccaneers on Sunday, Briana Jeannel of the team's official site reports.
Collins suffered a sprained knee in the Week 5 win over the Rams but is now healthy again. The rookie second-round pick has recorded just five tackles (two solo) across his first five outings while playing on both defense and special teams. He should continue to serve as a depth option along the defensive line in Sunday's game.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Iffy for Week 6
Collins (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Collins suffered a sprained knee in Week 5 but managed to turn in limited practices both Thursday and Friday. He appears to be truly questionable for Week 6, and his status will be important given that he's logged a minimum of one-third of defensive snaps from Week 2 on.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Back at practice
Collins (knee) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Collins was able to return to practice Thursday after being a non-participant to open the week Wednesday. The defensive tackle is dealing with a knee sprain that he suffered in the team's win over the Rams in Week 5, and he will have one more chance to log a full practice before Sunday's matchup with the Buccaneers.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Sidelined by knee injury
Collins (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Collins suffered a knee sprain in Thursday's win over the Rams, so it's not a big surprise that he was unable to practice to begin preparation for a Week 6 matchup against Tampa Bay. Kalia Davis (hand) will also be sidelined, so the 49ers' defensive line could be shorthanded.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Sustains knee sprain in Week 5 win
Collins sprained his knee during the 49ers' 26-23 overtime win over the Rams on Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Collins made arguably the play of the game Thursday when he punched the ball out of Kyren Williams' arms at the one-yard line late in the fourth quarter, and Collins was able to recover to give the 49ers possession. Collins appears to have come out of the contest worse for wear with a knee sprain, and he'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury and his chances of playing in Week 6 against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Oct. 12. Collins' presence moving forward is crucial for the 49ers, especially with starting defensive tackle Kalia Davis set to undergo surgery to repair a broken hand that he sustained during Thursday's win. If Collins is also sidelined, rookie fourth-rounder CJ West would be in line to see a heavy dose of snaps at defensive tackle alongside Jordan Elliott.

49ers' Alfred Collins: Back at training camp
Collins (calf) has fully participated in practices during the 49ers' first week of training camp, Mike Maynard of The Sporting News reports.
The rookie second-rounder suffered a calf injury during minicamp in June, but he has fully recovered and is participating in practice. Although they are projected to serve as a backup behind Jordan Elliott and Kevin Givens (pectoral), Collins and fellow rookie defensive tackle CJ West are expected to see plenty of snaps on defense in 2025.
