Ackley (shoulder) will serve as the DH and bat sixth in the order in Wednesday's split-squad game against the Mariners.
Ackley's shoulder injury has limited him to just six appearances all spring, and the fact that he's still confined to DH duties doesn't bode well for the non-roster invitee's chances of winning an Opening Day spot. If Ackley fails to break camp with the Angels, he'll likely begin the campaign at Triple-A Salt Lake.
