Astros' A.J. Reed: Called up from Triple-A Friday

Reed will be called up from Triple-A Fresno, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

It is unclear at the moment who will be optioned to make room for Reed on the roster, but he will be making his big league debut for Houston. Reed has slashed a .266/.345/.509 to go along with 11 home runs through 59 games in Fresno. He has hit for more power recently with three home runs in his last ten games. Reed is expected to join the team Saturday, and will likely be a regular in the lineup right away.
