The Athletics transferred Jimenez (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.
The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Mason Miller, who was summoned from Triple-A Las Vegas in advance of his first MLB start Wednesday versus the Cubs. Jimenez had been placed on the 15-day IL on Tuesday with the right shoulder strain, but his move to the 60-day IL now ensures that he'll be sidelined until at least the latter part of June. Trevor May was also placed on the 15-day IL on Wednesday while dealing with anxiety, likely leaving Zach Jackson as the top candidate to pick up any save opportunities the Athletics may face.
