Cardinals' Jesus Cruz: Sent to alternate training site

Cruz was optioned to the alternate training site after Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

Cruz had his contract selected by the Cardinals on Tuesday and surrendered two runs over one inning during his major-league debut. Johan Oviedo had his contract selected in a corresponding move and will start Wednesday's nightcap.
