Cubs' Kevin Padlo: Shipped to Chicago

The Cubs acquired Padlo from the Royals on Saturday.

Padlo was assigned to Triple-A Iowa and debuted with the club in Sunday's 10-9 win over St. Louis, starting at first base while going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts. The 28-year-old has seen limited big-league action in each of the previous three seasons but has played in 67 games between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2024, slashing .185/.299/.342 with nine home runs and nine stolen bases.
