Lough was released by the Tigers' Triple-A affiliate Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
The Tigers decided to cut Lough loose after the 31-year-old got off to a slow start with Triple-A Toledo, slashing just .169/.210/.203 across 24 games. He's seen time in the majors in each of the last five seasons, so he'll likely latch on as organizational depth elsewhere.
