Diamondbacks' Mike Freeman: DFA'd by D-Backs

Freeman was designated for assignment Saturday.

After being optioned to Triple-A on Thursday, Freeman will be removed from the 40-man roster and subject to waivers. If he passes through unclaimed, the outfielder will likely remain at the Triple-A level, though he could be a potential September call-up.
