Hathaway was out for all of spring training with shoulder bursitis and doesn't have a clear timetable for a return. After turning in a 4.91 ERA over 14.2 innings with the big club last season, Hathaway figures to head back to the minors once he's activated and deemed healthy enough to pitch again.
