Hathaway (shoulder) is expected to begin the season on the disabled list, Fox Sports Arizona reports.
Since it was announced in February that Hathaway was dealing with bursitis in his shoulder, there has been very little information regarding his level of throwing activity. Because he hasn't pitched any live innings this spring, the Diamondbacks will look to have him throw in a few rehab games before making his eventual return to the big club's bullpen.
