The Nationals released Garcia from his minor-league contract Thursday.
Garcia made 52 relief appearances in the majors across stints with the Phillies, Rays, Reds and Twins over the past three seasons, but he had pitched exclusively in the minors in 2022 after joining the Nationals on a minor-league deal in April. Over his 24 innings at Double-A Harrisburg this season, Garcia logged a 6.38 ERA and 1.46 WHIP.
