Eduardo Paredes: Cut loose by Detroit

The Tigers released Paredes from his minor-league contract Wednesday.

Though Paredes logged 32 appearances at the big-league level the past two seasons, it appears he was cut loose for performance-related reasons rather than for the purpose of allowing him to pursue opportunities elsewhere. He tossed 12 innings in relief for Triple-A Toledo and was charged with nine earned runs on 10 hits and nine walks.
