Giants' Andrew Knapp: Designated for assignment

Knapp was designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday.

After the Giants selected his contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Knapp went 1-for-7 in two games with the Giants. The move to waive him comes as a result of fellow backstop Joey Bart being reinstated from the 7-day concussion list.
