Guerra cleared waivers Tuesday and opted for free agency, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

The veteran righty enters the open market after being designated for assignment Sunday. His 16.50 ERA in six big-league innings this season is alarming, but Guerra was an effective, middle-inning reliever as recently as 2020 and could latch on with a team in need of veteran bullpen depth.
