Allan (elbow) is expected to pitch in minor-league games by the end of the 2022 season, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
It was originally reported Allan would miss the entire campaign after undergoing a second elbow procedure in January, but the right-hander is apparently looking at a late-season return instead. The 20-year-old originally underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2021 and then had the cleanup procedure last month, which pushed back his rehab timeline. A 2019 third-round pick, Allan has only six minor-league games under his belt due to the injury last year and the lost season in 2020.
