Mets' Sam Clay: Called up by Mets

Clay was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Clay was claimed off waivers by the Mets on July 10, and he posted a 9.64 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 4.2 innings over four relief appearances in Syracuse. The southpaw should serve as a low-leverage reliever in the big-league bullpen.
